Teaching Arabic through Content-Based Instruction (CBI)

Overview

Participants will attend an online training for six weeks (90 minutes average per week), listening to the lectures, taking a quiz, completing an evaluation form, and participating in the online discussion.

Course Content 6 weeks of online training for Arabic teachers to learn how to:
  • Introduction to content-based foreign language instruction.
  • Using Quran and Islamic studies in teaching Arabic.
  • Using literature for content-based instruction.
  • Using proverbs, popular saying in teaching Arabic.
  • Level of language study.
  • Morphology. Eloquence. Grammar.
  • Content-based instruction and teaching standards/ACTFL standards.
  • Children's literature and CBI.
  • Formative Assessment and CBI.
  • Content-based instruction of Arabic, an applied approach.
