STARTALK 2012: Technology Literacy for Teaching Digital Natives
If your answer is YES! Then this workshop is for you! You will receive a systematic introduction to using technology across many dimensions of language teaching. While the course showcases examples in Arabic and Persian, the course is presented in English. Thus, teachers of other foreign languages are welcome to enroll in the online course as well. Since 2007 as part of STARTALK, CLASSRoad has been providing professional development programs dedicated to the teaching of Arabic as a Foreign Language, and this year our program features a Persian component as well.
Online class session : June 11 - June 22, 2012 * O N L I N E workshops provide lectures from some of the best experts in the field of Arabic teaching. Along with a dedicated online master teacher, discussion boards and quizzes, the program will equip participants with the best practices in Arabic teaching using technology tools.
Option to join Onsite class session: July 16 - July 20, 2012 * O N S I T E workshop: 20 participants from the online workshop will have the option to join us in sunny Southern California for one week of onsite training, which interfaces with a unique immersion program for Arabic learners at California State University - San Bernardino. Onsite participants will receive a $300 stipend, plus room and board.
