Currently working on her doctorate degree in Educational Technology, she earned her M.A. in Educational Psychology with specialization in cognitive psychology, adult education and Educational Technology at McGill University in Montreal. She holds a bachelor in English Language and Literature from the Lebanese University and a graduate diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign language from the American University of Beirut.

She is thoroughly interested in Task Based Learning and Project Based proficiency guided learning enhanced and facilitated by modern technologies. She is in charge of teacher training and professional development in the areas of language instruction using modern computer applications, Web-based applications and Web 2.0 tools. She has developed instructional technology material for Teacher Professional Development Programs with the goal of training teachers to develop content based curricula using authentic material and interactive modern technologies for teaching and learning. 

She has presented on educational technology implementation and the role of culture in the language classroom at California Language Teacher Associations (CLTA) annual conferences in 2008, 2009 and 2010. She also presented on the topic of task-based functional learning and Assessment using Rubrics and a variety of educational technology tools at the Arabic National Convention in Chicago (2008) and at Microsoft in Seattle (2008) on how Microsoft applications helps language teachers teach more effectively. She also led an Arabic teacher training workshop on computer applications and Web 2.0 applications funded by a grant by STARTALK (June 2009), and at the USD in November 2009 and at Flora Vista Elementary in December 2009. Moreover, she presented on standard based instruction using technology at ACTFL convention 2009. Likewise, she presented on the topic of Digital Portfolios 2.0: Assessing 21st Century Language Learning using Web 2.0 Tools at the UC Language Consortium's Biennial Conference held at UC San Diego in April 2010.

She researched and published on cognitive models in hypermedia project design protocols manifested by expert versus novice web site designers. She recently published on Technology in Task based learning and evaluation in National Arabic Conference reports. She continues to research and to develop her skills in technology and especially educational technology tools that would improve teaching practices and learning outcomes.

She is the advisor for USD student organizations: a Special Interest Group- Students for Justice of Palestine and the Arab Culture Awareness Club and continues to support students in creating cross cultural understanding and community involvement.

With over 20 years of second language teaching experience, she teaches elementary and intermediate Arabic language courses at UCSD and USD.
